CI Traders Abandon Casino Idea
UK – As reported by the Publican: "CI Traders has abandoned plans for a casino development at its St Pierre Park Hotel complex in Guernsey.
"The Channel Islands' biggest leisure operator has walked away from the high profile project to develop Guernsey's first casino after failing to resolve a long running dispute with the local planning authorities.
"CIT chairman Tom Scott said: 'We remain of the opinion that a casino would be attractive to the Guernsey market but could not support the scale of associated investment required by the authorities.'
"He added: 'We believe we own a number of alternative sites that could suit a casino operation in Guernsey.'…"
