IndigoVision kits out Chile casinos
INDIGOVISION, the digital CCTV company, has continued its drive into the casino market with a major contract in Chile, writes Hamish Rutherford.
The Edinburgh-based company said 500 cameras had been installed at a casino complex in Coquimbo in Northern Chile. Once completed, the project will have involved the upgrade of 2,500 cameras across the Enjoy Groups nine casinos.
IndigoVisions cADVERTISEMENThief financial officer, Marcus Kneen, said the contract demonstrated the firms ability to deliver large projects across multiple regions.
The Scots group says its technology offers key advantages over older analogue systems for casino operators, where continuous footage and accurate monitoring are required at gaming boards.
Its system also often allows casinos to remain open while an upgrade is taking place, preventing revenue loss. IndigoVision has targeted the gaming industry, and its equipment is now installed in casinos across Europe, North America and South America, "firmly establishing the company as the market leader in this demanding industry".
IndigoVision added: "Many casinos are now finding that their existing analogue systems cannot cope with the demands of the complex surveillance environment associated with modern casino operations."
Its technology is also used to monitor dozens of airports and train stations around the world – and Edinburgh Castle.
Shares in Aim-listed IndigoVision rose 10p to 715p, valuing the company at £51.2 million.
