Maoists Threaten Indians Working at Nepal Casinos
KATHMANDU As reported by the Hindu: "Two Indians working in casinos here have been forced to flee after a Maoist affiliated trade union threatened to kill them if they did not vacate their posts in favour of Nepalese nationals.
"The Maoist affiliated All Nepal Hotel and Restaurant Workers Union issued threats asking the Food & Beverage Controller Kishore Singh of Casino Everest and Operation Manager of Casino Royale Rajesh Kataria, both from Delhi, to tender their resignations immediately.
"The Union had submitted 14-point demands to the casino management which included the removal of all foreign employees working in the casinos. The Maoists argued that highly paid Indian nationals should be sacked and they should be replaced by Nepalese staff..."
