Charity Wins With Strip Poker
DUBLIN, Ireland – Bookmaker Paddy Power has pledged to double the GBP10,000 first prizein its forthcoming World Strip Poker Championship if the event is won bysomeone donating their winnings to charity. This would mean a whoppingGBP20,000 payday for the winning charitable organisation.
The event, being held at the Cafe Royal, Regent Street, London onSaturday 19 August, is an attempt to set the Guinness World Record for thelargest ever strip poker tournament.
Interest in taking part in the event has been so strong, withapplicants across 15 countries, that the organiser is now looking to expandthe event. A large percentage of those playing are doing so to raise fundsfor their favourite charities.
Spokesman Paddy Power said, "We don't want to disappoint anyone whowants to play and we've had a lot of interest from people willing to donatetheir winnings to charity so we thought we'd super-size the event andencourage people to cast off their clothes for charity."
