Visimetrics win casino contract
Digital Video Recorders from Visimetrics have been installed at The Empire in London as part of a £15m casino refurbishment.
The owners of the 55000 sq ft venue, London Clubs International, asked their own technical security department to install the new surveillance system.
The Visimetrics FASTAR Real Time MPEG2 DVR is now being used to record data in all gaming, reception and cash handling areas, while the VADER High Speed Time Lapse DVR stores images from perimeter cameras.
Both machines use the Linux operating system and offer 8 channels of audio and video recording. Visimetrics say they come with a hard disk capacity of up to three terabytes, despite being only one rack unit in height. When required, casino operators can also transfer footage to DVD for playback or storage.
“The Casino at The Empire is the third London Clubs International venue to use Visimetrics products...”
A similar system is also being installed at the soon to be opened London Clubs casino in Nottingham.
