Job fair seeks workers for new casino hotel - Monday 12th of September 2005

The first of several job fairs in Erie and Niagara counties intended to hire 1,000 workers for the new Seneca Niagara Casino Hotel in Niagara Falls will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in the Grand Island Holiday Inn, 100 Whitehaven Road.

The first 10 floors and three restaurants of the 26-story hotel are scheduled to open Dec. 31, with the remaining floors opening in March, said Seneca casino spokesman Philip J. Pantano.

Additional job fairs are planned for Rochester and Syracuse. "We will focus on the people of Western New York but will also look to bring new people to the region," said Richard Seneca, the casinos vice president of human resources.

The other area job fairs will be held:

• Oct. 2 to 5, Conference Center of Niagara Falls, 101 Old Falls St.

• Oct. 12 and 13, Millennium Airport Hotel, 2040 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga.

• Oct. 17 and 18, Conference Center of Niagara Falls.

• Oct. 25 and 26, Hyatt Regency Hotel, 2 Fountain Plaza, Buffalo.
