Harrah's Entertainment Artists Rally Together - Thursday 15th of December 2005
LAS VEGAS Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. is pleased to announce the donation of more than $92,000 to the Harrah's Employee Recovery Fund. H.E.A.R.T, featured Harrah's Entertainment performers in a benefit to assist the company's Gulf region employees displaced by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. This one-of-a-kind event was held Sunday, November 27th at the Penn & Teller Theatre at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.
During the event Penn & Teller personally presented a check for $25,000 to the Harrah's Employee Recovery Fund.
Hosted by Earl Turner, a frequent Harrah's New Orleans performer, the event featured some of Las Vegas' most popular entertainers including: Wayne Newton, Ronn Lucas, Clint Holmes, Erocktica, George Wallace, Jubilee!, Mac King, Max Alexander, The Scintas, The Second City, Skintight, Society of Seven, Tony n' Tina's Wedding, and a special presentation by Penn & Teller.
Dick Foster Productions, producers of the event donated their services to this worthy cause. Additionally, the Penn & Teller show graciously donated the theatre and technical expenses.
Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. employs approximately 9,000 in the Gulf Region and is the 2nd largest employer in the region.
"These entertainers were so generous in donating their time and entertainment abilities to this worthy cause," said Tom Jenkin, president of Harrah's Western Division. "With the success of this event yielding more than $92,000 this will allow our fellow employees assistance in rebuilding the Gulf region. Thank you to everyone who attended and participated."
