Borgata Names President, COO - Wednesday 25th of January 2006
ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, a joint venture of Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE:BYD) and MGM Mirage (NYSE:MGM), today announced the appointment of Larry Mullin to President and Chief Operating Officer as well as the promotions of five key executives to senior management positions:

Tom Ballance, Senior Vice President of Development
Joe Lupo, Senior Vice President of Operations
Hugh Turner, Vice President of Finance
Chris Rynkiewicz, Director of Finance
Mullin will be responsible for day-to-day operations at Borgata and will succeed Bob Boughner, who will be leaving his position to return to Las Vegas as President and Chief Executive Officer of Echelon Resorts to lead Boyd Gaming's newly-announced development.
Commenting on the recent promotions, Boughner said, "I am pleased to announce the promotions of Larry Mullin and these outstanding Borgata executives. They are established leaders, great managers, and offer a wealth of experience in their fields. As I transition into my new role, I am confident that Borgata is firmly positioned for continued growth and success."
Mullin possesses a distinguished 20-year career in the Atlantic City market and has held a variety of senior management positions prior to joining Borgata. He is a graduate of West Chester University and holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration.
Auggie Cipollini will serve as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer and will oversee the areas of finance, administration, information technology, legal, credit, purchasing, and internal audit, in addition to the Atlantic City Jobs and Opportunities Program. Cipollini has most recently served as Vice President of Finance for Borgata, and will replace Kevin Sullivan, who will be joining Boughner as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Echelon Resorts. He is a graduate of Widener University and holds a B.S. degree in Accounting.
Tom Ballance will serve as Senior Vice President of Development, overseeing the construction and development plans for Borgata's Phase I and Phase II Expansion Projects. Ballance has been with Borgata since 1998, bringing 26 years of experience in the casino industry. He holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Stockton State College.
Joe Lupo will serve as Senior Vice President of Operations, responsible for Borgata's food and beverage and hospitality programs, poker and racebook, security, surveillance, and entertainment. Lupo has been with Boyd Gaming since 1986, holding various management positions in many facets of the business. He holds a B.S. degree in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Hugh Turner, who brings over 20 years of accounting and finance experience within the casino industry, will be responsible for property finance functions including revenue accounting, cashiering, strategic performance and operations analysis, compliance and controls, and materials management as Vice President of Finance. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration/Accounting from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
As Director of Finance, Chris Rynkiewicz will oversee the areas of general cashiering, food and beverage cost control, general ledger, financial reporting, and payroll. He brings over 10 years of experience in the fields of public accounting and financial reporting and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Rutgers University.
