Arizona Lottery Drawings Air - Friday 27th of January 2006

PHOENIX, Arizona –- Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 1, players cantune-in to ABC15 to view the Arizona Lottery drawings for The Pick(TM),Fantasy 5(TM), Pick 3(TM) and the multi-state Powerball(R) game. Players willbe able to view the respective daily drawings all at once and at the same timeeveryday. Drawings in the Phoenix market are scheduled to air exclusively onABC15 at approximately 10:25 p.m. Monday through Saturday, during the eveningnews.

ABC15 was one of several broadcast stations that submitted their proposalto be the English-language drawing broadcast partner for the Arizona Lotteryin the Phoenix market. The request-for-information via a marketingpartnership was distributed to broadcast affiliates across the state byRiester~Robb, the Lottery's marketing firm, on behalf of the Arizona Lotteryin early November. The marketing proposal for a drawing broadcast partnerstems from a long-term initiative to transmit the drawings statewide to bothEnglish and Spanish-speaking audiences. The Lottery's advertising agency iscurrently reviewing all other out-of-market proposals.

According to John Hogg, director of marketing at the Arizona Lottery, "Thefresh thinking, and the mutually beneficial marketing ideas outlined in theABC15 proposal differentiated the station from other bidders in the Phoenixmarket."

Beyond providing consumers with a convenient, consistent time slot and apermanent home for all of the drawings, ABC15 has committed to additionallong-term marketing elements to support the Lottery as a whole.

Included in the station's package is not only a promotional schedule andaggressive campaign to generate excitement about the Arizona Lottery's switchto ABC15, but also continued collaboration including weekly jackpot amountmentions; access to the station's cutting-edge mobile web services;cross-promotional opportunities on their website, at community events and withthird-parties; as well as a half-hour show, to air three times a year,dedicated to showcasing public programs and services that are supported by thedollars raised through the sale of tickets. The package is solely avalue-for-value partnership at no hard costs to the Lottery.

In turn, the Arizona Lottery will include the ABC15 logo on all of itsoutdoor boards in the Phoenix market and direct players to ABC15 for thedrawings, on printed Lottery tickets, on their website and on radio trafficcommercials.

Infrastructure to transmit the drawings statewide to both English andSpanish-speaking audiences was put in place in May of last year, when theLottery made the technological leap to a state-of-the-art digital drawingsystem.

Proposals to be the digital drawing broadcast partner in other parts ofthe state are currently in review by the Lottery's marketing firm,Riester~Robb. Responses have been received from networks in southern andnorthern Arizona including Spanish-language affiliates. This move marks theend of a 10-year agreement with Phoenix NBC affiliate.

Players can log on to for drawing results and cansign up to receive the winning numbers via e-mail. Players can also checktheir numbers by calling the winning numbers hotlines at 480-829-PICK inPhoenix and 1-800-499-3798 in all other Arizona areas. The winning lotterynumbers are also published in the Arizona Republic the day after each drawing.Powerball and The Pick drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday evening.Fantasy 5 and Pick 3 drawings are held Monday through Saturday evenings.
