LAS VEGAS Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:HET) today announced that Darold Londo will be named senior vice president and general manager of Harrah's Cherokee Casino & Hotel, effective upon receipt of required regulatory approvals.

Londo is currently vice president of casino operations at Harrah's Atlantic City. He will succeed Tom O'Donnell, who has been promoted to regional president of Harrah's Gulf Coast Region.

"Darold possesses an impressive combination of leadership skill, business experience and academic achievement," said Carlos Tolosa, president of Harrah's Eastern Division. "He has produced outstanding results during his three years with our company, helping lead the Harrah's Atlantic City team to record revenues and customer-service scores. I am confident Harrah's Cherokee will thrive under his leadership."

Prior to joining Harrah's Atlantic City in 2002, Londo served as chief operating officer, chief financial officer and general counsel of Chatham Financial Corp., a international finance risk consulting firm in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Previously he served as chief operating officer of Chorus Communications Group, a publicly traded telephone and Internet company based in Madison, Wisconsin, and president of subsidiary Chorus Networks; and as a business and real estate attorney with Axley Brynelson LLP, a Madison-based general practice law firm.

Londo served six years as an officer in the United States Army, reaching the rank of captain in the aviation branch of the 10th Mountain Division. He holds a bachelor's degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, an M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Harrah's Cherokee, located in western North Carolina, is owned by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and managed by a subsidiary of Harrah's Entertainment.
