Club Closes at Crown Casino - Monday 27th of March 2006
AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Age.com: "Crown Casino has pulled the plug on its nightclubs.
"Live-music venue Mercury Lounge will close in May after its lease was not renewed. This follows the closure of Heat Discotheque in September.
"Drugs, violence and a massive brawl by underworld figures in 2003 are believed to have caused the casino's rethink.
"Remaining, for the moment, are the cabaret-style venue Club Odeon — its lease has about a year to run — and the Next Blue club that operates outside the main building on the Yarra River…"
