Mega Millions Rises to $54 Million - Thursday 4th of May 2006

UNITED STATES -– Countless Mega Millions playersfrom coast to coast had their eyes on the prize in the Tuesday, May 2drawing. A total of 502,903 tickets won prizes, including 14 tickets thatcame within just one number of winning it all. No ticket matched all sixnumbers to win Tuesday's jackpot, so the jackpot for the Friday, May 5,2006 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $54 million.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 7-11-22-27-31 and the MegaBall number was 33.

Those 14 tickets that each matched the first five numbers and onlymissed the Mega Ball number were purchased in California (1), Michigan (1),New York (6), Ohio (1), Texas (1), Virginia (2) and Washington (2).

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois,Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas,Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PMEastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
