Powerball Jackpot Grows to $38 Million - Tuesday 30th of May 2006

The Powerball jackpot continues togrow. No one hit the jackpot Saturday, but 398,270 players across thenation won a total of more than $3.9 million in prizes in America's Game.

Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Saturday's drawingthe jackpot will grow to an estimated $38 million.

The cash option for the Wednesday, May 31st drawing will be anestimated $16.9 million.

The numbers drawn Saturday were 6, 23, 27, 41, 47, and the Powerballwas 19. The Power Play multiplier was 3.

Six tickets correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $200,000.These winning tickets were purchased in Connecticut (1), Iowa (1), Kentucky(1), Louisiana (1), Minnesota (1), and Nebraska (1).

Twenty tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won$10,000. Two additional winners at that prize level also had the Power Playoption multiplying their winnings 3 times for a total of $30,000.

More than 73,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 3Saturday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option forone dollar. With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings by 2-5times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel isspun to select that night's multiplier.

Players should carefully check their tickets after every draw. Even ifthere are no jackpot winners there are always tens of thousands of winnersat other prize levels.

Players purchased more than $17.1 million in tickets between Wednesdayand Saturday night. The lotteries have sold more than $2.6 billion inPowerball tickets so far in fiscal year 2006. That translates intoapproximately $750 million for worthwhile state projects.

Powerball is now played in 28 states, the District of Columbia, and theU.S. Virgin Islands.
