MGM Grand Hotel and Casino Receives Award - Wednesday 14th of June 2006

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Southern Nevada Human Resource Association (SNHRA) has named MGM Grand Hotel and Casino as the "Best Place to Work" in the gaming industry for 2006. This marks the second consecutive year that MGM Grand has received this award.

"Being named the 'Best Place to Work' two years in a row is an honor for our company and employees," said MGM Grand President and COO Gamal Aziz. "This award is recognition of our strong benefits, innovative approach to training and development, and unique employee programs that provide opportunities for our team to grow and develop at all levels."

"Best Place to Work" companies were judged on criteria such as recruitment and retention practices; performance management; employee benefits; work-life balance initiatives; employee communications; employee relations; and inclusiveness and diversity programs.

According to the judges, "MGM sets the standard for others to follow. From recruiting and employee development to benefits and incentives, MGM Grand finds the mix of custom and standardized programs that help every employee feel valued and appreciated."

MGM Grand was honored for its many professional development, educational and recognition programs. Of note were the company's Leadership Institute, a professional development program for executives; the Take Flight Supervisory Academy, a program that prepares supervisors for management positions; and the Maximum Vegas Performance Program, an internal recognition program that highlights and rewards employee performance. The company was also recognized for offering free computer courses and English-as-a-Second Language classes to employees.

Earlier this year, MGM Grand University ranked 29th on Training Magazine's "Top 100" list. MGM Grand was the only gaming company on the list.

The SNHRA is a professional association for human resource executives in the Las Vegas Valley with nearly 600 members representing more than 400 organizations.
