Powerball Jackpot Rises to $86 Million - Sunday 18th of June 2006

UNITED STATES – The Powerball jackpot continues togrow. No one hit the jackpot Saturday, but 567,870 players across thenation won a total of more than $5 million in prizes in America's favoriteGame.

Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Saturday's drawingthe jackpot will grow to an estimated $86 million.

The cash option for the Wednesday, June 14th drawing will be anestimated $39 million.

The numbers drawn Saturday were 16, 24, 26, 36, 54, and the Powerballwas 11. The Power Play multiplier was 3.

Three tickets correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $200,000.These winning tickets were all purchased in Pennsylvania. One additionalticket in Pennsylvania not only matched all 5 white numbers for $200,000,but also had the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 3 times for atotal win of $600,000!

Twenty-two tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won$10,000. Five additional winners at that prize level also had the PowerPlay option multiplying their winnings 3 times for a total of $30,000.

More than 106,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 3Saturday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option forone dollar. With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings by 2-5times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel isspun to select that night's multiplier.

Players should carefully check their tickets after every draw. Even ifthere are no jackpot winners there are always tens of thousands of winnersat other prize levels.

Players purchased more than $23.6 million in tickets between Wednesdayand Saturday night. The lotteries have sold more than $2.6 billion inPowerball tickets so far in fiscal year 2006. That translates intoapproximately $750 million for worthwhile state projects.

Powerball is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia, and theU.S. Virgin Islands.
