First Millionaire Raffle Prize Claimed - Sunday 9th of July 2006
MIDDLETOWN, Pennsylvania – Maria S. Valencia of UpperDarby, Delaware County, is the first to claim a $1 million top prize fromthe Pennsylvania Lottery's July 4 Millionaire Raffle game.
The selection of five $1 million top-prize raffle ticket numbers andfive $100,000 second-prize raffle ticket numbers, which came from a pool of625,000 tickets that were sold for $20 each between May 23 until they soldout June 26, was televised live on the Lottery's drawing show on July 4.Winning raffle ticket numbers for 750 prizes of $1,000 were also selected,but were not displayed due to time constraints.
Valencia presented her winning ticket Thursday, July 6, at Lotteryheadquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. After examining the ticket andexecuting other propriety security measures, Lottery officials confirmedthat it was one of five top-prize winning tickets from the Independence DayMillionaire Raffle drawing.
Valencia bought her winning ticket at Gil's Deli, 4001 N. 7th St.,Philadelphia. The store will receive a $5,000 selling bonus from thePennsylvania Lottery.
The remaining four top-prize winning raffle tickets were sold at MGMPharmacy, 39 Carlisle Rd., Newville, Cumberland County; PK Newsstand, atthe corner of 36th and Market streets, Philadelphia; Top Star, 476 W.Market St., Beavertown, Snyder County; and Mike's Deli, 527 W. Butler St.,Philadelphia. Each of these retailers also will receive a $5,000 sellingbonus. The holders of the remaining top-prize winning tickets have not yetcome forward.
A complete list of all 750 winning raffle ticket numbers is availableat Lottery retailers, as well as on the Lottery's Web site. The numbers are listed by prize category inascending order. Players may also use a "search" function to enter theireight-digit Raffle ticket number to see if they have a winning ticket.
The $1 million prizes must be claimed by presenting a winning ticket atPennsylvania Lottery headquarters in Middletown or at any of the Lottery'sseven area offices located throughout the commonwealth. The five $100,000prizes can be claimed at any of the Lottery's seven area offices or at anylicensed Pennsylvania Lottery retail location.
Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. atPennsylvania Lottery headquarters, and Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.until 4:30 p.m. at Lottery area offices.
Holders of Millionaire Raffle tickets worth $1,000 can claim theirwinnings at any Lottery retail location.
