Poker business magazine to launch - Tuesday 3rd of February 2009

A week after ending one title, Dennis Publishing is bucking the economic gloom by launching what it claims to be the first ever business-to-business poker magazine, Inside Poker Business.

The new subscription-only title will sit alongside Denniss other consumer gambling titles, PokerPlayer and InsidePoker, and offer analysis and interviews with figures in the poker industry.

Alun Bowden, editor of InsidePoker, will take on the additional duty of editor-in-chief of the new quarterly magazine, which will be launched later this month.

Bowden has been InsidePoker editor for the last three years, prior to which he was editor of eGaming Review.

The first issue of Inside Poker Business, which will be distributed free of charge to industry figures internationally, will see Jim Ryan, the chief executive of Party Gaming, discuss his plans for the online gaming giant.

Inside Poker Business will join other recent editions to Denniss portfolio. In October it bought technology website bit-tech.net for an undisclosed sum. This came after the publisher announced that it would also be launching an Australian edition of current affairs magazine The Week.

Dennis also publishes titles including Mens Fitness, Maxim and the digital Monkey magazine. However, last week it announced that it was stopping publication of its monthly Computer Buyer magazine after 18 years.

The March issue of Computer Buyer, which is in shops now, will be the last, with falling circulation leading the publisher to focus its resources on its Computer Shopper monthly title.
