Gaming industry group elects Boyd CEO as chairman - Thursday 21st of January 2010

The American Gaming Association has elected Boyd Gaming Corp. CEO Keith Smith as its next chairman.

The industry group for commercial casinos says Smith will replace T.J. Matthews, the former chairman of International Game Technology.

Smith first joined the associations board in 2007. He was its vice chairman last year.

The association said Smiths election came at the groups annual meeting in December.
