Raids Net Nearly 60 Video Gambling Machines - Tuesday 12th of July 2005

The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division said Thursday that it seized nearly 60 illegal video gambling machines in a series of raids in Greenville County Wednesday.

Officials said Greenville County sheriffs deputies and SLED agents raided eight homes and businesses, seizing 59 machines of four different types and $9,754 in cash.

SLED said 10 people were arrested and charged with gambling.

6129 Augusta Road –- 13 machines

Rutherford Road (no street number) –- 10 machines

409 Old Easley Bridge Road –- 8 machines

4612 Whitehorse Road –- 6 machines

2008 Piedmont Highway –- 5 machines

414 Old Paris Mountain Road –- 4 machines

628 Staunton Bridge Road –- 5 machines

805 East Fairfield Road–- 8 machines

SLED officials said that the investigation is continuing and more charges are expected in the near future.
