Sportsbook.com Releases Grammy Odds
NEW YORK – The nominations for the 48th AnnualGrammy Awards have been announced - and Sportsbook.com has odds on the fanfavorite categories for the music lover in us all. The awards will take placeon February 8th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Mariah Carey was back on top of the music charts this year, and topsSportsbook.com's early Record of the Year award odds with her ballad We BelongTogether the 8-5 favorite. Kanye West follows closely behind at 9-5 with thehumorous R & B tune Gold Digger and Green Day rounds out the top contenderswith their radio request hit Boulevard of Broken Dreams listed at 2-1.
Carey and West each have eight nominations and will battle it out in theAlbum of the Year category as well. Oddsmakers have the Glitter star on topfor The Emancipation Of Mimi at 13-10 and West's Late Registration at 8-5.Love. Angel. Music. Baby. by soon-to-be mom Gwen Stefani is listed at 7-2,U2's How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb at 9-2 and Paul McCartney's Chaos nCreation in the Backyard at 10-1 complete the list of odds for the Album ofthe Year.
Bono of U2 recently won the TIME magazine's People of the Year award, andaccording to oddsmakers, the trophy case still has room for more accolades.The Irish mainstay band's 14th album: How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb hastopped oddsmakers charts in the Best Rock Album category with odds of 13-10.U2 has 16 Grammy awards to their credit. Best Album wins include All That YouCan't Leave Behind and The Joshua Tree, Best Alternative Music Album wasawarded to U2 for Zooropa.
