Swiss casino staff get big tip back from bosses
A casino in the Swiss city of Lucerne has agreed to hand over to staff 2.4 million Swiss francs (1.5 million euros, 1.9 million dollars) in tips which it had pocketed in 2002 and 2003.
A local court had ordered the payment after two employees complained about the casinos earlier practice of keeping tips from winning customers to pay its bills.
Lucerne casinos new management said in a statement Thursday it had decided not to appeal against the ruling.
The tips will be distributed among the casinos 200 employees at the end of the year, amounting to a Christmas box of few hundred to 15,000 Swiss francs each.
