Viva Macau gets green light to fly in December

Viva Macau, the first low-fare airline based in Macau, officially received the Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Macau on November 27.

Andrew Pyne, Viva Macau CEO told Destination Macau, "This is a milestone not only for Viva, but also a significant milestone for Macaus economic and tourism development. Receiving the AOC now clears the way for us to begin operations in December. Today marks an important step in the liberalization of Pearl River Delta air services links."

Pyne said Viva Macau will be open for bookings later in the week and plans a major announcement on destinations and fares "within the next 48 hours".

VIVA Macau will operate two wide-bodied aircraft to start - one Boeing 767-200ER and one Boeing 767-300.
