Hundreds Turn Out to Hear About Casino Jobs
BETHLEHEM As reported by the Express-Times: "The gold sequin-toed cowboy boots Kim Torregrossa got for Tuesday's Las Vegas Sands Corp. job fair may not get her foot in the door.
"But the Easton woman and about 600 other people got a leg-up on working at a possible casino in South Bethlehem. Two workshops at Northampton Community College's East Third Street campus drove home what the Venetian company looks for in employees and how it reviews applications.
"...The estimated $300 million casino depends on a state slots license. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has no timetable for awarding the Category 2 license sought. Two of the licenses are going to undetermined locations, with proposals in Allentown and the Poconos joining the Sands in a field of six applicants..."
