Colorado Casino Smoking Exemption Stripped
DENVER, Colorado – As reported by the Longmont Daily Times-News: "A Senate panel stripped the casino exemption from a proposed statewide indoor smoking ban Wednesday before voting 5-2 to advance that bill to debate by the full Senate.
"Denver Democrat Dan Grossman, who's carrying the so-called Colorado Clean Indoor Air Act in the Senate, told reporters afterward that he agrees casinos should not be exempted.
"But he said including casinos in the smoking ban likely will make it more difficult to get the full Senate to adopt the bill originally introduced in the House.
"As it now stands, House Bill 1175 would ban smoking in the indoor areas of most public and private workplaces and public venues, including restaurants and bars…"
