Lakes Entertainment Releases Table Game
MINNESOTA – As reported by the St. Paul Business Journal: "Around noon last Saturday, 12 players sat poker-faced around two tables at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, playing Texas Hold 'em.
"All were hoping to win big.
"Lyle Berman already has.
"The Minnetonka gambling guru and CEO of Lakes Entertainment Inc. is rolling out his company's first table casino game.
"…Called World Poker Tour All in Hold 'em, the game appeals mostly to novice poker players, and is on the floor of 15 casinos so far, including one of Las Vegas' hottest hotels the Bellagio. A World Poker Tour logo and sign brands each table.
"…Playing off Texas Hold 'em's two-card-draw method, the game is modified so players face off only against the dealer, not other players at the table. Then it's a lot like blackjack: The player 'gets action' each hand of the game instead of once every 10 hands or so as in regular poker, where players often fold.
"…Berman said he expects the game to serve as a "meaningful revenue generator," bringing in "upward of $4 million" in annual revenue in a few years after the game blankets the country…"
