Harrah's Makes Near-Record Donation to Food Bank
LOUISIANA As reported by the Shreveport Times: "A simple contest between departments yielded one of the largest donations of canned goods ever received by the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank.
"About 10,000 pounds of food was collected by employees at Harrah's Louisiana Downs and Horseshoe Casino and Hotel. It was delivered this week, much to the surprise of Jim Presson, executive director of the Food Bank.
"'It was truly incredible,' he said. 'It couldn't have come at a better time.'
"The Food Bank's supplies have been particularly low this summer for items that generally go into their food boxes for needy seniors..."
