Casino robbed of $100,000
Thieves stole close to $100,000 during an armed robbery at a casino in San Fernando on Tuesday night.
At 10 p.m., police said the men with pump-action shotguns went into the Club Avenue 5 casino in Duncan Village, San Fernando.
They disarmed security guard Michael Jones of his handgun and six rounds of ammunition.
He was taken to a secure room at the back of the casino where manager Sharonjit Kaur was working. Kaur, a Malaysian national, was robbed of $50,000 and US$8,000.
Gamblers in the game room knew nothing of the robbery, police said.
