Leeds Drafts Gambling Rules
LEEDS, England – As reported by the Yorkshire Post Today: "With new laws that change how and where people can gamble coming into force next year, Leeds City Council is drawing up a blueprint to help it deal with the overhaul.
"Under new gambling legislation, which comes into effect from January 31 next year, the council will become the authority responsible for issuing licences for casinos, bookmakers, amusement arcades and bingo clubs and also for providing permits for members' clubs and fruit machines in pubs.
"The council is beginning a consultation and in its draft documents says it will work with West Yorkshire Police to ensure high-risk premises or premises within areas with considerable crime or disorder are targeted for suitable licence conditions, such as door supervision…"
