Pennsylvania Board Approves Licenses
HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania – The Pennsylvania GamingControl Board today voted unanimously to approve licenses for threecompanies that filed applications to be manufacturers of slot machines andassociated equipment in the Commonwealth. Separately, the Board votedunanimously to approve licenses for 12 companies that filed applications tobe suppliers of slot machines and associated equipment. All licenses aresubject to a series of conditions set by the Board to ensure that therequirements of the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act, andBoard rules and regulations are met.
"Approving these licenses is another major step forward for gaming inPennsylvania," said Tad Decker, chairman of the Board.
By considering the manufacturer and supplier licenses today, the Boardfulfilled its statutory obligation to consider manufacturer and supplierlicenses at least 90 days before it votes on any operator licenses, Deckersaid. Today's votes keep the Board on track for considering operatorlicense applications as early as September 2006, he added.
