Arizona Lottery Celebrates 25th Anniversary
PHOENIX, Arizona – The Arizona Lottery marks its 25thAnniversary next month, tallying nearly $2 billion in contributions to thestate since its creation in 1981. Activities to commemorate the momentousoccasion will be rolled out all year, starting with amammoth-of-a-Scratchers ticket tied to a year-long publicity and promotionspush.
Arizona's first $250,000 Scratchers ticket appropriately namedJubilee arrives at all Lottery retailers next week. More than $33million dollars in prizes are allocated to the $10 dollar ticket includingmultiple $250,000 cash prizes and one-of-kind prize opportunities forplayers including the chance to participate in a 'live' television-airedinstant second chance giveaway on New Year's Eve where $400,000 in cashprizes will be given away.
"This is an important year for us and we want to recognize it withstyle," said Evan Van Wagenen, Promotions and Advertising Manager at theArizona Lottery. "The $250,000 Jubilee ticket alone is incredible and weknew that combining it with the live Jubilee cash giveaway events thefirst of their kind in Arizona would differentiate this ticket likenothing else could." The Arizona Lottery will host one 'live' cash giveawayon New Year's Eve and another over the summer in 2007 at locations to beannounced soon. Ten lucky people will be qualified for each event where onewill walk away with $250,000 and six with $25,000 in cash. Of course, somelucky players could simply scratch-off and win $250,000 instantly. Eitherway, Jubilee is sure to be the talk among players throughout the year.Players with the word ENTRY on their Jubilee ticket will be eligible toenter their name on the Arizona Lottery's website for a chance to be part of the live cash drawing events. Entries start onJuly 3.
An 8-foot symbolic Jubilee ticket will be on display at FabulousPhoenix Fourth, a 4th of July event in downtown Phoenix next week alsothe first stop along a year-long 25-town tour to mark the Lottery's 25thAnniversary. An image of the symbolic ticket can be viewed on the Lotterywebsite. A full tour schedule will be availablelater this month on the Arizona Lottery's website. Each tour stop will bepacked with Lottery fun. Players throughout Arizona will have a chance tomeet the Lottery's own mascot Windfall Willie, scratch the giant travelingJubilee ticket for a chance at prizes and lottery merchandise as well aspurchase lottery tickets including the Jubilee.
