Oregon Casino Supporters File New Proposed Initiatives
OREGON – As reported by the Oregonian: "Two Lake Oswego men who are seeking to develop Oregon's first nontribal gambling casino have filed seven new proposed ballot initiatives to replace earlier proposed initiatives that were ruled unconstitutional.
"Financial consultant Bruce Studer and lawyer Matthew Rossman filed four new initiatives with Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury's office Monday, adding to the three new initiatives they filed Friday, a day after Bradbury's office rejected the earlier versions.
"The two men want to develop a casino at the closed Multnomah Greyhound Park in Wood Village.
"One of the proposed initiatives filed Friday would repeal the constitutional ban on nontribal casinos in the state and direct the Legislature to authorize the operation of a single Oregon casino.
"Friday's other two proposed initiatives cite Multnomah Greyhound Park as the location for the state's only casino…"
