Mega Millions Jackpot Rises to $36 Million
UNITED STATES – Even though there was no jackpotwinner in Friday's Mega Millions drawing, a lot of players still walkedaway winners. With nine different ways to win, a total of 431,428 ticketswon prizes in the May 26 drawing. That includes three tickets that each won$250,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to take home the jackpot,that jackpot grows to an estimated $36 million for the Tuesday, May 30,2006 drawing.
The three tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the firstfive numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets werepurchased in Maryland, New Jersey and New York.
Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois,Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas,Virginia and Washington.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PMEastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
