Casino chiefs to raise money for McCain
The Las Vegas Strips three top casino executives have been named to a Republican finance committee charged with raising money for John McCains presidential bid.
Las Vegas Sands Corp. chief Sheldon Adelson, MGM Mirage Chairman Terry Lanni and Wynn Resorts Chairman Steve Wynn were announced Friday as honorary co-chairmen of the Republican National Committees Victory 2008 finance effort.
Sands Corp. President Bill Weidner, Adelsons political and corporate lieutenant, also was named chairman of the effort, while Republican consultant and longtime McCain friend Sig Rogich was named co-chairman.
Chairs were named in all 50 states in an RNC news release Friday.
